Having worked in more trades than I can list—and understanding just how many exist—I’ve come to a powerful realization: every role matters. Every profession contributes to the fabric of our world. But if I had to choose the three most important, based on impact to humanity, here is how I see it.
Number Three: Doctors and Nurses
Before you take offense, stay with me—you’ll understand why they are placed here. Doctors and nurses are heroes. They save lives, heal the sick, and care for us in our most vulnerable moments. Their contribution is undeniable and essential.
Number One: Teachers
Yes, number one. Why? Because without teachers, there would be no doctors, no nurses—no professionals at all. Teachers shape minds, inspire dreams, and build the foundation for every other career on Earth. They are the starting point of all progress.
Number Two: Farmers
Right behind teachers are farmers. Because without farmers, there are no teachers… and no doctors. Quite simply, without food, nothing else exists. Farmers sustain life itself. Every meal we eat is thanks to their hard work and dedication.
The Bigger Picture
In truth, we need everyone. Every trade, every skill, every product plays a role in keeping society functioning. Think about something as simple as rubber. If rubber trees stopped producing, the world would grind to a halt. Airplanes couldn’t fly, cars couldn’t drive, bicycles couldn’t roll. It’s all connected. No job is insignificant. No contribution is too small.
Love What You Do. There’s a saying I believe deeply in:
“Love your career, and you’ll never work a day in your life.”
When you find purpose in what you do, you’re not just earning a living—you’re contributing to humanity.
