Fresh Water for Africa
A Life-Changing Initiative by The Foundation for World Harmony
Water is life. Yet across vast regions of Africa, millions of people still lack access to clean, safe drinking water. Every day, children and families suffer—and die—from waterborne illnesses such as cholera, dysentery, typhoid, and hepatitis A, all caused by drinking contaminated water.
The Foundation for World Harmony, a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit, is partnering with the Nigerian government to address this urgent humanitarian crisis by delivering sustainable, community-based water solutions.
Our Mission: Transform Lives, One Village at a Time
We are drilling deep boreholes and installing modern wellheads to provide consistent access to fresh, clean, potable water in rural villages. These wells do more than quench thirst—they become lifelines for entire communities. Clean water improves health, empowers women and girls, enables children to attend school, and supports small-scale farming and local economies.
Why This Matters
- Over 300 million Africans lack access to clean drinking water.
- Contaminated water is one of the leading causes of death in children under 5.
- Every $1 invested in clean water yields up to $4–$12 in economic returns.
Scaling Up: A Vision for Africa and Beyond
With your support, we aim to replicate this model across other African nations and eventually around the world. This is more than charity—it’s infrastructure development, public health improvement, and global impact.

The Importance of the Fresh Water Africa Project to Communities, Schools, and Africa at Large
Access to clean and safe water is one of the greatest needs across many parts of Africa. The Fresh Water Africa Project is more than just a water supply initiative—it is a life-changing investment in health, education, economic development, and human dignity. By providing sustainable access to clean water, the project has the potential to transform lives and build stronger, healthier communities.
Importance to Communities
Improves public health: Clean water reduces the spread of waterborne diseases such as cholera, typhoid, and dysentery.
– Saves lives: Access to safe drinking water lowers child and maternal mortality rates.
– Promotes economic growth: Families spend less time searching for water and more time on farming, business, and other productive activities.
– Empowers women and girls: Women and children, who often bear the responsibility of fetching water, gain more time for education, work, and family.
– Strengthens community development: Reliable water supplies encourage better sanitation, hygiene, and overall quality of life.
Importance to Schools
– Improves student attendance: Children are more likely to attend school when clean drinking water is available.
– Enhances learning: Healthy and well-hydrated students are better able to concentrate and perform academically.
– Promotes hygiene: Schools with clean water can maintain proper handwashing and sanitation facilities, reducing the spread of illness.
– Supports girls’ education: Access to water and sanitation helps keep girls in school, especially during adolescence.
Creates a healthy learning environment: Safe water contributes to a cleaner and more conducive atmosphere for teaching and learning.
Importance to Africa at Large
– Advances sustainable development: Clean water is essential for achieving many of the global Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 6: Clean Water and Sanitation.
– Boosts food security: Water supports agriculture, livestock, and irrigation, increasing food production.
– Strengthens resilience to climate change: Sustainable water systems help communities cope with droughts and changing weather patterns.
– Reduces poverty: Improved access to water increases productivity, creates opportunities, and supports economic growth.
– Promotes peace and stability: Reliable access to water can reduce conflicts over scarce water resources and foster cooperation among communities.
Conclusion
The Fresh Water Africa Project is an investment in the future of Africa. It brings hope to underserved communities, creates healthier schools, supports economic growth, and contributes to a stronger, more prosperous continent. Every borehole drilled, water system installed, and community served represents a step toward a healthier Africa where every person has the opportunity to thrive.
“When you give a community clean water, you do more than quench thirst—you restore health, unlock education, empower families, and build a brighter future for generations to come.”
